Solargenix Energy has introduced the SOLPAC Solar Heat Exchange Module for the residential and light commercial solar water heating markets. The new product combines all the components necessary to convert existing electric or gas water heaters into low cost solar water heating systems. The SOLPAC Heat Exchange Module is completely prepackaged and designed as a “plug-n-play” appliance for homebuilders, plumbers and consumers to easily install a high quality, freeze proof and reliable solar water heating system. The DC circulation pump in the SOLPAC is powered by a 20W Photovoltaic module included in the package. Up to 120 square feet of collector area may be installed per SOLPAC unit.
The SOLPAC is designed with a single wall heat exchanger consisting of nineteen (19) ½-inch tubes made of .025 wall copper with internal baffles to provide turbulent flow and optimum heat exchange between the tubes and shell. The shell is made of 3-inch DWV copper with .060 stamped copper baffles and end caps.
